to know about the upcoming concert events surrounding Tempe, AZ. All this
information is gathered on in one convenient place to make it quick and easy to
obtain all the necessary sources to enable you to have the best concert
experience possible with it’s easy to navigate website and links.
Lucky
Man Concerts online is a website catered to local concerts and venues in the
Tempe, Arizona area. The main function of this website is to give the user the
ability to obtain tickets and information regarding who is playing shows in the
areas venues. Furthermore, other information vis-à-vis the concerts are all
handily accessible of the websites main page such as; Venue, shows times, and
ticket prices. On the main page the next ten upcoming concerts are displayed
with the calendar date and the above information obtaining to the event. For a
full list of events there is a link at the bottom of the page as well as in the
tool bar.
Once
you have found a concert you are interested in attending, tickets are easy to
obtain and just a few clicks away. The process is very simple and straight
forward, this helps cut down on user and computer errors. There are a few ways
to purchase tickets via Luckymanonline.com; the first and most expedient way to
purchase them online; this is made even simpler by a buy tickets button located
next to all the information about the event. The online purchase is quick and
secure, and should only take a few minutes and a credit card number. If this
isn’t the course of action you’d like to take you can click the “Tickets” link
in the toolbar, this takes you to a page that displays other options like;
phone numbers to call to order through the phone. Also certified locations that
will sell the tickets to you face to face are given with addresses, contact
info, and a link to show it on a map. Overall the ticket buying process is
rather easy to navigate. Another plus that I appreciate and know many other
users of the website, especially fellow university students, is the ticket
prices, I find them rather fair for the most part, the average ticket prices
range in the $20-30 range plus service fees, and some of the bigger name artist
reaching the $30-40 price category. So not only is the purchasing of tickets
easy on the user it’s easy on their wallets as well.
Another
useful resource of Luckymanonline.com is all the venue information available to
you. Though not all of it is located on the website itself, which is my main
criticism of the website. That being said the website still does provide a
decent amount of information regarding how to acquire info for the venues,
including links to the venues websites where you can find directions and phone
numbers. So this is still a helpful source in that aspect.
The
Marquee is the venue that is linked directly to Lucky Man Concerts Online, as
this is where the website headquarters is located. A majority of the concerts
in the Tempe area take place at The Marquee. The venues location in close
proximity to Arizona State University makes it the ideal place to hold events
geared to college aged music fans. Information about the Marquee can be found
directly found on luckymanonline.com. The site overviews all the necessary
information needed when attending a concert event at The Marquee. Any contact
information needed to communicate with questions or concerns are found if you
scroll over the “About” tab in the toolbar and click on the FAQs tab. Under
this section you will find such information regarding parking locations and
prices. Also policies on what you can and cannot bring to The Marquee theatre
during concerts. If you fully read the FAQs page you will find it is not only
informative, but also there is some humour intertwined within the serious
answers. I found this as a somewhat surprising entertainment and shows the
relaxed fun environment the website and venue are striving to promote. Though a
few of the questions and answers are repeated on the page.
The
overall appearance of the website is quite pleasing to the eyes and really fits
the feel of the type of product that they are promoting. It has a young fun feeling
to keep with the feeling of encouraging you to have a pleasant experience both
on their website and at any of the concerts they are endorsing. This being said
it manages to incorporate enough professionalism to not seem childish or poorly
put together.
When
you first go on luckymanonline.com you are taken to the home page, which is
bright and inviting. The background is white, with a grey design overlaid; this
background is seen throughout the site. I find the design simple, yet not to
plain that it is boring and bleak, I enjoy this minimalist background. The menu
bar is black with white text, which really pops out and catches your attention.
The majority of font found on the website is grey, black or orange. This is the
general colour scheme of the site is a variation of those three colours. These
colours flow well together and give a warm and happy sense to the sight.
The
font style is not just your boring old Helvetica or Times New Roman, that are
seen too often and are rather unentertaining to the mind. This use a mixture of
simple text style and a fun cursive style header that unique and add a subtle
boost to the words written on the page.
The
front page is overall well organized and not cluttered at all, yet he front
page gives you a lot of useful information the is relevant to the more recent
upcoming events in the Tempe area. First You come across a slide show of
pictures advertising the shows that are coming up using pictures to display the
artist or their album artwork, this grabs your attention as it headlines the
page. To the right of the slideshow, is a list of the next five upcoming shows
listing the dates and names. Under both of these is a more detailed list of the
upcoming 10 shows; these give the dates, times, ticket price, venue and the
ability to buy tickets all accessible through the first page. This makes things
quick and super user friendly. On the sidebar of the main page there is a
playlist wittily named “Jukebox” that has songs you can play from the entire
collection of artist who have upcoming performances. I really think this is a
neat idea and more websites promoting concerts should take from this. Not only
can users hear the bands they know but the user can hear the music from the
other musicians as well, which could lead the user buying tickets to more
concerts as well. This is a very useful tool both marketing wise for the
company but personally for the consumer to broaden their knowledge.
Another
key feature of this website that has been become an almost mandatory unwritten
rule of the Internet is the links with social media. In the upper right hand
corner of the luckymanonline.com you can see links to its social media sites,
these links are shown no matter what page of the site you are viewing. The
links are for the websites Twitter handle, Tumblr blog, and Facebook page.
There is also a box that you can input your email address to join the mailing
list for the site, this is located directly next to the social media links.
Social media is also present on the side bar of the main page where there is a
box where you “like” their Facebook page and see what other people like that
page as well and if any of your friends do. Social media has become one of if
not the best way for companies and celebrities to promote and keep in touch
with its target market, this website makes it easy for a user to find and link
themselves with these such outlets, giving them an upper hand on the competition.
Overall
this website is simple and not much too it. In most cases you’d see this a negative
cogitation but in fact is quite the opposite. The cut to the chase scheme of
luckymanonline.com helps you getting right to the point of purchasing tickets
and getting information in a quick manner. The website is geared towards doing
it’s job and not over cluttering itself with irrelevant features and pizazz
that takes up time and annoys the user. The appearance is very appropriate for
the theme a music venue and promoter would use. There were some minor errors on
the webpage but this a smaller business and can’t really fully blame them for a
few minor errors on an overall fantastically user friendly and helpful website.
