Being
new to an area is exciting and invigorating but can also be overwhelming.
Anybody that is new to a city can have a hard time finding places and figuring
out where is the best to eat. In order for a company to make theirs stand out
over others, is to make it as customer friendly as possible. They have to be
easily accessible in all aspects, including and most importantly online. The
Internet has become a way of life and is the easiest way for people to do research
and read reviews on places before going to them. Tempe Arizona’s hotspot is
definitely Mill Avenue with its decorative lighting down the street, high-energy
atmosphere and variety of shopping, bars, and restaurants. Mill Avenue’s Ra Sushi has an enticing
and user friendly website filled with delicious photos, a decorative layout,
and easy access to all of their information.
When
pulling up Tempe’s Ra Sushi website, the first thing a customer will see is a
slideshow filled with photographs of their restaurant, famous dishes,
refreshing drinks, and desserts. There is no greater way to draw in a person’s
attention than enticing them with photos that will make their stomach
growl. This slideshow is a great
way of showing rather than just telling what the restaurant has to offer. This
is the center focus of the homepage and around it is a red and sushi themed
background. There is a pair of chopsticks next to all the tabs on the websites,
which gives the site an extra boost and brings excitement to the page.
Ra does a great job translating their
delicious sushi on the screen. This restaurant has unique looking and
incredibly delicious sushi and the website shows photos of their most popular
rolls. As one may see when viewing the “sushi images” on the bottom of the
page, this website provides pictures of their signature sushi rolls. Not to
mention, there is a list of every single sushi roll with a brief description in
order to help costumers decide what a customer should order for the night.
These detailed images on the website are not for customers to be fooled, but it
is in fact the opposite. It is common to see websites take pictures of their
food in a beautiful display but when it is brought to the table in real life,
it looks nothing like the picture. The Ra website reveals the exact style the
food as shown in the photos, down to the last bit of soy sauce that will be
served when eating at this restaurant. In other words, what one sees is what they
get when it comes to the Ra Sushi website.
Although Ra is a sushi restaurant,
these detailed photos show that there is more than just sushi available to eat.
The Ra Sushi website allows customers to check out the happy hour specials and
dessert menu as well. These images expose desserts such as Mochi ice cream,
fried ice cream, and the happy hour specials. Their happy hour include refreshing
drinks at the bar or a filling teriyaki plate for lunch. These drinks and
plates are also available to be seen on the Ra Sushi website along with the
signature items. For a person who
enjoys eating sushi like myself, seeing these images of their exotic dishes and
refreshing drinks makes it an easy decision to go there. These photos can make
any sushi lover hungry and craving their rolls in a heartbeat. Complimentary to
the photos of their food, there are images to enhance the Japanese culture on
this website and an image of the outside of the actual restaurant. When looking
through these photos, I noticed that the restaurant has a modern style with an
up-beat environment. Although the restaurant illustrates more dark colors than
bright, the lights are dim just enough to be relaxed and enjoy a satisfying
meal.
Besides the appealing and extremely
enticing photos their sushi this website provides, it is definitely user
friendly as well. Everything is clearly labeled through-out this website and
every label has a purpose. These labels make it easy to be aware and understand
the style of Ra’s website and how to navigate around it. It is especially easy if
a customer wants to know where the nearest Ra Sushi restaurant is that is closest
to their current location. All that is asked for is a zip code, city, or state
and the results will be available in no time. It will pinpoint on a map the
closest restaurant to the customer and give the address. This website has their
address in Tempe on the front page and also has their phone number. This phone
number is very helpful for customers to call and ask for directions,
reservations, happy hour details, or order take out. Since Ra Sushi’s website has
a section to show all the food that is made at this restaurant it is easy to
order take out. Not only is a food description helpful when interested in
eating at the actual restaurant, but also this is a great way for costumers to make
a take out or pick up order and know exactly what they are ordering. They even
have a “To Go Sushi Platter” tab on the website. This tab shows that they offer
premade platters or customized platters for bigger events. This is extremely
helpful if a customer is looking to cater a party with Ra Sushi. They could
just go to this tab and pick out a platter of their choice for one price
instead of ordering a bunch of different rolls.
At the bottom of the website they have
three important features. They have a “What’s Happening?” section where they
update different events or specials coming up in the calendar. They have a
“Join Our Team” section where one could easily access an online job application
or look at what positions they are hiring. Lastly, they have a “Make Friends
With Sushi” section. This is the most important section since advertising on
social media is the best way to reach customers. It has the link available to
“like” their Facebook page. This way a customer could be updated on their
Facebook that they check often whenever there is a special happening, an
upcoming event, or just to be reminded of their delicious menu. The Facebook
page for Ra also gives the customer the chance to read what their regulars have
to say about the place. There are tons of positive comments and posts made by
people daily about what they think of the place and the sushi rolls.
Overall the website for Tempe’s Ra
Sushi gets an A+ for appearance, content, usability, and appropriateness. The
websites homepage is extremely inviting and draws in ones attention. There is no unnecessary content on the
website either. All of the information provided is useful to the customer. The
functionality and usability of this website is impeccable. Every tab directs
straight to the next page needed. The entire website is designed for easy
customer use. There is definitely no confusion when trying to navigate around. Finally,
this website is completely appropriate for the vibe and
feel a great sushi restaurant needs. It has the culture of the food
incorporated into the decorations and design of the restaurant and website
layout.
Ra Sushi is in an incredible location
for nightlife or for a fun hangout during the day. They have out door seating
to enjoy a beautiful afternoon and also an exciting and decorative bar area for
a night out on the town. No matter what time of the day one goes, or no matter
what day, Ra never fails to bring an inviting and exhilarating atmosphere. The
energy is undeniable and the sushi is some of the best there is. The employees
are always friendly and the bartenders give great recommendations of their most
refreshing drinks.
My advice for anybody new to Arizona
State University or new to Tempe Arizona is to check out Ra Sushi. That is if
they love sushi of course! Speaking from a sushi fanatic, I have never had a
negative experience at this restaurant. My friends and I love to go for
birthdays, happy hour, or for a nice lunch. Their happy hour is almost
unbeatable. They offer three dollar California rolls. It does not get much
better than that! Especially for college students, sushi on a budget can be
hard to find. Just like the Esurance commercial says, “cheap is good, sushi is
good, but cheap sushi is not good.” Ra is definitely has high quality sushi for
very reasonably prices and an awesome happy hour deals. Any sushi lover will
not be disappointed when experiencing Ra on Mill Avenue. The website makes it
easy for students to locate them and research the menu and deals before even
going inside. The website does a great job bringing the upbeat atmosphere the restaurant
has and showing it through the screen. The website is completely designed to
make a customer happy, informed, and hungry!
